A Little Switch.

Oh, how I wished,
That things could be a little different, a little switched
What if his sister were younger, and his brother too
Would life be any different, would it feel new?

He wonders what it would be like
To have a younger sister to guide and strike
To teach her all the things he's learned
To protect her from the world, and keep her spurned

And what about his younger brother, he ponders
Would he have to be the one who wanders
The one who's left behind, while they grow and thrive
Or would he be the one to keep them both alive?

But as he sits and thinks it through
He realizes that he wouldn't want to undo
The love and bond they've built so far
The memories, the laughter, the scars

For they've grown together, side by side
And through it all, their love has never died
He's grateful for the siblings he has today
And wouldn't want it any other way

So he smiles, and his heart is light
Knowing that everything is just right
For in his siblings, he has found
A love that will forever be unbound
